Students details leaked from Sainik School Database

Hackers leak the students details from the school database, parents receive calls to pay extra money to get admission for their wards- read the complete details below:

The hackers have accessed the data of the children who had appeared for the entrance test for admission to Sainik Schools and are using the same to demand money from the parents to get their wards crack the exam.

The matter came out after a parent- Balbir Kumar of Lanj- lodged a complaint on Wednesday. He claimed that several residents of the Kangra region have received phone calls where the callers have assured them to help their wards to get into the Sainik schools if they pay Rs 10,000.

The test has been conducted in the first week of January. In the complained to Kangra police the parent claimed that he was shocked as the details of his child, which they had filled in the application form for the entrance test.

Balbir also added that the called even know that the child was short of 15 marks in the merit list without which he will not get admission into the Sainik School Sujanpur. And the caller demanded Rs 10,000 to secure the required marks to ensure the child’s admission.

The caller also sent an SBI account number to the complainant to deposit Rs 10,000 for the same. Kangra SP Vimukt Ranjan claimed that he had received information that the several residents whose children had appeared for the entrance test of the Sainik Schools had received similar calls asking for money.

He suggested that the call suggests that data regarding details of the candidates might have been accessed by hackers or some unscrupulous elements.
