Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur’s first meeting with various departments at Ludhiana about women related schemes

The “Milni” programme, an exclusive initiative by the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, was launched from Ludhiana. In a meeting with the Police Department, Health Department, Education Department, Labor Department, District Officials of District Legal Services, and various non-governmental organizations working in the field of women’s welfare, the Social Security Women and Child Development Minister, Dr. Baljit Kaur, instructed various departments to work collaboratively to implement women-related schemes and Acts more effectively and transparently at the ground level to benefit the maximum eligible beneficiaries.

In a meeting of the Police Department, Health and Education Department, and Social Service Organizations (NGOs), Cabinet Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur emphasized the empowerment of women and urged spreading the benefits of the Sakhi One Stop Center scheme to as many people as possible. She invited police women friends, who are counselors of Sakhi One Stop centre, to help women who are being tortured, by contacting the centre for immediate assistance. The Cabinet Minister also instructed officials to strengthen the Act to protect children from labor and begging.

Dr. Baljit Kaur stressed the empowerment of women, urging women sarpanches and panches to work independently. She added that Women sarpanches and panches, as well as non-governmental organizations that undertake more work, will be honored.

The Cabinet Minister stated that the state government, under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Bhagwant Mann, is working day and night for the welfare of the people, directly benefiting the common people by running pro-people schemes.

Dr. Baljit Kaur announced that similar programs will be organized in every district, encouraging various related departments to cooperate in implementing women-related schemes run by the department. To ensure compliance with the instructions given in the meeting, the concerned Deputy Commissioner at the district level will hold a meeting with the district officers of the concerned departments to ensure that the schemes and various acts related to women are implemented at the ground level by the departments more effectively and efficiently to benefit more eligible beneficiaries.
