Governor urges people to adopt Swadeshi during Amrit period

Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that every person has become a witness of Amrit Kaal.  We have to decide in which direction we have to go in the coming 25 years and what would be our contribution in the development of the nation.

The Governor was addressing the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav programme at Baddi in Doon AC of district Solan today as the chief guest.

He said that in this Amrit Mahotsav, we also need to look at the past.  He said that foreign invaders including Britishers destroyed our culture, traditions and education system.  Our ancestors could not even think of freedom, he added and said that Indians in a large number sacrificed their lives to get us freedom.  We all need to understand the meaning of this freedom, he added.

Referring to the pain of the partition of the country, the Governor said that there was a need to remember this sad incident in history.

He said that we have to remember all those sacrifices due to which we were living in a free nation.  He said that we could remember our great freedom fighters by joining the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.  This campaign was not a subject of any party or organization but of the whole country, so we were all associated with this campaign.  He called upon the people to adopt Swadeshi during the Amrit period.

The Governor also gave away the prizes to the best employees of the company and people who did excellent work in his field.

Indresh Kumar, Executive Member of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh while congratulating the Microtek Company for organizing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, said that such activities would also inspire others to contribute to the National cause. He also mentioned various events related to the independence of the country.  Referring to the various slogans related to the freedom struggle and their importance at that time, he said that in the present context, slogans and campaigns like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Har Ghar Tiranga were also associated with nationalism.
