Haryana’s Tableau today gave the immortal message of Srimad Bhagavad Gita to the entire world during the Republic Day celebrations at Kartavya Path. Through the tableau, based on the theme of International Gita Mahotsav (IGM), the spectators get a glimpse of the ‘Virat Swaroop’ of Lord Krishna.
An official spokesperson said that Kurukshetra is known as one of the oldest pilgrimage places in the world and the Vedas and Puranas were composed on the banks of the holy river Saraswati here. During Mahabharata, the eternal message of Srimad Bhagavad Gita was delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra; hence Kurukshetra is identified as the birthplace of the Gita.
Keeping this relevance of Gita in mind, Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi called for its recognition to the country and the world. Giving a concrete shape to this thought, under the leadership of Chief Minister, Sh. Manohar Lal; the birthplace of Gita is being given recognition globally and the ‘International Gita Mahotsav’ has also been organized under this series in the country as well as abroad; with the work to spread the universal and inspirational message of Gita to the masses to enlighten peace, harmony and universal brotherhood in the world.
Glimpse of Lord Krishna’s Viraat Swaroop, imparting knowledge of Gita to Arjuna in tableau
The spokesperson further said that the tableau depicted Lord Krishna serving as the charioteer of Arjuna and imparting the knowledge of Gita to him. In the foreground of the tableau are the visions of Lord Krishna’s ‘Virat Swaroop’, as displayed by him in front of Arjuna on the battlefield. The displayed statue of Virat Sawroop showed 9 heads of Lord Vishnu namely Agni, Narasimha, Ganesha, Shiva, Vishnu, Brahma, Ashwini Kumar, Hanuman and Parshuram. The Divya Sarp is covering the head and Shri Vishnu carrying Sword, Trishul, Lotus, Sudershan Chakra in right hand and Shankh, Barcha, Dhanush, Naag, Gada in left hand.
Created on a circular platform, the entire bottom section is created in an intricate design with Sheshnag and waves. The final part of the tableau depicts a grand chariot with four horses in the Kurukshetra battlefield. Haryana’s grand tableau on the Kartavya Path managed to leave an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of the spectators.
