Chandigarh, October 17:
The State Government has decided to consider amendments in the initiative of state Govt regarding Home Delivery service of Ration to PDS beneficiaries.
Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson from the Department of Food and Civil Supplies informed that while implementing the change in Home Delivery service, interest of all the stakeholders in the Public Distribution supply chain including Fair Price Shop owners shall be taken into account.
These submissions were made before the Hon’ble High Court by the State Counsel during hearing on the CWP filed by the Fair Price Shop owner Associations and assured that the legitimate interests of the Ration Depot Holders as per the National Food security Act shall be taken into consideration while giving Home Delivery Service of Ration. Based upon the assertions made by the state counsel, Hon’ble High Court has disposed off the litigation on the matter.
