16 new positive cases reported in Ludhiana district in last 24 hours

Ludhiana, June 7: Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal today informed that in the last 24 hours, 16 new positive cases have been reported in district Ludhiana. He informed that out of the new cases, 12 are from Ludhiana, while 4 from other districts/states.  He informed that the patients related to Ludhiana include one each from village Jassowal Kular, Lakkar mandi Doraha, Dashmesh Nagar, Civil Lines, Jain Colony, Kot Mangal Singh, Islam Ganj, Amarpura, Prem Nagar, Mundian and Habibganj, two from Delhi while one each from Jalandhar and Fazilka districts.

He informed that as per the “Mission Fateh” started by the Punjab government, the number of patients getting cured is increasing with each passing day. He said that till date, a total of 164 patients have been discharged from hospital after getting cured. He said that unfortunately, a COVID 19 patient lady passed away at DMCH last night.

He further said that till date, a total of 10906 samples have been taken, out of which report of 9755 samples has been received, of 9407 samples is negative and report of 1151 samples is pending. He said that now, the total number of patients related to Ludhiana is 247, while 101 patients are related to other districts/states. He said that unfortunately 10 people from Ludhiana and 7 from other districts have lost their lives. He said that 164 patients related to district Ludhiana have been discharged from hospital after treatment.

He informed that till date, 7998 persons have been kept under home quarantine in the district and at present, the number of such persons is 1719. Today, 199 persons were sent for home quarantine.

He said that whenever District Administration and Health Department Ludhiana finds out that about any positive or suspected COVID 19 person, their samples are immediately sent for testing. Similarly, 702 samples of suspected patients were sent for testing today and their results are expected shortly. He appealed to the residents to follow all directions of the Punjab government and if they would stay indoors, they would not only stay safe themselves, but would also contribute in keeping everyone around safe.
