Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019) Movie Review

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Movie Review

Movie Plot:

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is a story about a rebel leader Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy (Chiranjeevi) whose blood boils at the actions of the British East India Company looting his countrymen and treating them like second-class citizens. British’s East India Company is strengthening its presence and troubling the people with the excessive tax system.

There are around 60 such small regions ruled by different paralegals in and around Rayalaseema. After witnessing the exploitation by the British, Narasimha Reddy opposes them. When the British retaliate, he gathers all his people and unites pleasures of the neighboring regions to fight against the British, and what happens when he decides to kick-start a revolution with the help of the very people who’re downtrodden.

Artists Performance in the Movie:

Chiranjeevi: Chiranjeevi didn’t get many films to show his acting prowess after he became the megastar. Sye Raa gave him an excellent opportunity and he comes up with a splendid performance. You see more of an actor in this film. At the same time, there is excellent heroism portrayed through action sequences and emotional scenes in this movie.

Performances of other star cast:

Amitab Bachchan is excellent as a guru of Narasimha Reddy who always motivates him. Kichcha Sudeep steals the show with his maverick acting. Vijay Sethupathi is genuine. It’s a key role for Jagapathi Babu. Actor Anushka Shetty plays the cameo of Jhansi Lakshmi Bai through whose point of view the story is told. Nayanatara plays the role of the wife of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy. Actor Tamanna gets a purposeful role as a revolutionary singer and does extremely well towards the climax of the film. Raghubabu plays the role of a bad guy. Pruthvi is good. The man who hogged limelight is Saichand as an inspiring Subbayya. He is extremely good. Ravi Kissan does another vital role. All the British cast played their roles very well.

Direction:

Surender Reddy has worked with Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja, Allu Arjun, Ram Charan Teja, Kalyan Ram, and many other great actors in the past. Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy was one of the most anticipated movies in the career of Chiranjeevi owing to the popularity. In the USA, it collected an estimate of Rs.6.25 crores on its first day.

Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy Music Review:

Composer Amit Trivedi has composed some great music for the movie. Special to mention the composition and picturization of introduction song are brilliant. Also, brownie points to Julius Packiam’s background score, which adds a nice flavor to the intensity of the film.

Final Verdict:

Overall, Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy is not very much consistent, but should easily make it to every list of the best films based on Indian freedom fighters, thanks to its technical brilliance, an amazing climax, and Chiranjeevi.
