Earth day is that annual event that is celebrated around the world on April 22 to show support for environmental protection. This was first celebrated in 1970, now it includes the events to coordinate globally by the Earth Day Network in more than 193 countries. In 1969 a peace activist John McConnell proposed a day to honor the Earth and the concept of peace at a UNESCO Conference in San Francisco. Now, numerous communities celebrate Earth Week which starts from 22 April to 29 April.
