5 MIRACULOUS ANTI AGING SKIN CARE ROUTINES

Entering your late twenties? Or are you already in your thirties? We understand how you feel each time you look into that mirror or pose for a photograph. Nothing’s more challenging than those wrinkles and dry skin. You put on a lot of makeup to make yourself look youthful and most of you might have even emptied your pocket over those expensive anti-aging creams and ended up with no satisfactory results. Quite disappointing as it sounds, aging is a matter that worries almost every woman sooner or later.

Well, you can’t stop the clock, but you can include some skincare tips in your daily routine that will make your skin look younger. Here we bring to you 5 ways to care for your aging skin –

  1. Cleansing – This is one of the most important things to do, it removes potentially damaging impurities from your skin. Use a gentle cleanser one with a low pH which will work to maintain a proper skin balance. A cleanser with high pH like soaps is very harsh and can cause irritation and infection in your skin. It removes any skincare product or makeup that you applied on your face as well as bacteria, pollutants and natural skin oils.

Taking out dirt from your skin is essential because it can cause acne and blemishes over time. When your pores are cleaned, it makes space for other beneficial skincare creams to be absorbed into your skin. The next time when you get back home after a tiring day, don’t forget to use a cleanser and let your skin breathe.

  1. Sunscreen – UV rays cause a lot of damage to your skin, applying sunscreen whenever you go out even if the sun is not shining can protect your skin from aging. No matter what your age is, sunscreen can be used as a brilliant anti-aging skincare routine. Always purchase a sunscreen rated SPF 30 or above, it should be labeled ‘broad spectrum’ which means it protects from UVA and UVB rays. Apply sunscreen to your face, neck and chest area (if it will be exposed to daylight).

Spread a layer on your skin and massage it. Allow it to be absorbed by the skin for a few minutes before applying any makeup, you can also use a primer that contains sunscreen. Applying any other skincare products over sunscreen will dilute its effects.

  1. Exfoliate – Aging affects skin’s capacity to replenish itself, which leads to a dull and uneven skin and even cracks because dead skin cells cannot be replaced by fresh and new skin cells so quickly. Exfoliants can help remove these dead cells. Physical exfoliants such as sugar scrubs and cleansers with beads are too harsh and can make your skin saggy. Whereas, chemical exfoliants dissolve the bonds between skin cells and allows them to detach.

Some of the best exfoliants for mature skin are alpha-hydroxyl acids (AHAs) like glycolic acid and lactic acid which can be found in toners, serums, and at-home peels. AHAs are also great for fading uneven pigmentation and will help hydrate your skin as well. Integrating an acid-based exfoliant into your anti-aging skin routine not only keeps skin looking fresh and healthy; it also helps to stimulate collagen synthesis.

  1. Antioxidant serum – The skin produces free radicals in response to the sun exposure, free radicals break down collagen and elastin (that keeps your face plump and soft) which makes your skin dull. Antioxidants not only help fight free radicals but they also repair existing damage. Antioxidant vitamins and enzymes, such as those found in serums, are nature’s weapon against free radicals – and aging. Using an antioxidant serum consistently can bring effective results within 30 to 60 days. Also, it can help the skin to rebuild lost collagen, which supports volume within the skin, preventing the formation of fine lines and wrinkles.

You can start using an antioxidant serum as soon as you hit your 20s, loading your skin up with this can prevent the breakdown of collagen and elastin. As skin matures, its sources of vitamins and antioxidants are used up, there are reserves of these ingredients but lifestyle and diet choices deplete them overtime. For this, your daily routine should contain an antioxidant serum.

  1. Night cream – Your skin becomes more capable of repairing itself when you sleep. Nighttime is the best when the skin regenerates and benefits the most from potent anti-aging activities. Apply skincare products that you want your skin to absorb at night. Certain night creams are available in the market you can try them. You should probably go for a retinol product. Retinol is a scientific name for Vitamin A, it is proven to reverse the formation of fine lines and wrinkles and most signs of aging.

Another ingredient is peptides when applied to the skin this protein can stimulate the growth of new cells and facilitate the shedding of dead cells while you sleep. They can also promote the production of collagen. Vitamin C can also help fight free radicals and build collagen when applied at night. Apply a night cream rich in the above ingredients before you go to bed in the night, you’ll see the results in about eight weeks if you use it regularly.

From the above-listed things, you should also moisturize your skin, with aging your skin becomes dehydrated which results in fine lines. Look for a moisturizer that contains water-binding humectants like glycerin and hyaluronic acid, Vaseline and mineral oil can be used. Moreover, keep your skin away from trauma like pressing your face on the pillow while sleeping, this can cause ‘sleep wrinkles’. Also, when you wash your face or while applying any skincare products, avoid strong rubbing and tugging motions

Taking care of your skin is very important at this stage in your life, a little care can make you look younger today and always in the future. Include these basic tips in your daily skincare routine; also take care of your neck and chest areas and no one will know your true age!
