Chandigarh, April 19- For the convenience of the people living around the areas of all the toll plazas falling on the National Highways. The “pass-convenience” has been declared for the people living in the radius of about 20 kms of toll plazas which was earlier limited to 10 Kms. According to the new rule, “passes” will be made soon for the eligible people so that they can avail this facility.
This information was given by Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala while interacting with the mediapersons after a meeting with villagers and NHAI officers regarding the issue of toll on Gurugram-Sohna Expressway in New Delhi. In the meeting, the Deputy Chief Minister gave necessary directions to the NHAI officers.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the new rule of NHAI has come to make a pass for Rs. 315 for the local people living within 20 km radius of the toll plaza area of the National Highway. He said that earlier this rule used to be of 5 Km and then further extended to 10 km radius, but now its limit has been further increased to 20 km. Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that according to the new rule, this facility would be provided to the people of the state by making “passes” for the eligible beneficiary within a stipulated time.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the matter of Gurugram-Sohna Expressway toll had come to his notice yesterday and the matter was further discussed with the officers of NHAI today. He said that for this a three-member committee has been constituted, which includes officers of NHAI and PWD. Sh. Dushyant Chautala further added that this committee will visit the spot tomorrow and review it.
