Chandigarh, March 14- Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers to prepare an action plan to clean all the water houses (diggis made for drinking water supply) located in the villages of the state. He directed to implement the plan by April, 2022.
The Deputy Chief Minister was presiding over a review-meeting regarding MGNREGA in Chandigarh today. Development and Panchayats Minister, Sh. Devender Singh Babli was also present on the occasion.
Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that in the current financial year, works worth Rs. 750 crore were done under MGNREGA. This will also provide employment to the workers.He added that in the year 2022-23, the officers should take a target of Rs. 1,250 crore in order to expand the work under scheme so that maximum work can be done in the rural areas, this will also provide employment to the labourers.
He directed the officers to prepare a plan related to the works to be done under MGNREGA. He directed to identify those areas in which work would benefit a large section of the society and help in making their life convenient. He directed to prepare schemes for improvement of rural stadiums and water houses under Public Health Engineering on priority basis. He also directed the senior officers to monitor the daily updates from the concerned officers of the district about the works under MGNREGA and must take at least one review meeting in a month.
The Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the department wise work to be done under MGNREGA, he also directed to fix the target for the next financial year 2022-23.
Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Sh. Amit Jha, Director General, Sh. RC Bidhan and other senior officers were present during the meeting.
