  • Chandigarh, 25 March: Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that a booklet showcasing the success stories of women representatives who have done exemplary and outstanding work in Panchayati Raj Institutions will be published so that other women draw inspiration from them.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister was addressing 28 women Panches, Sarpanches, members of Panchayat Samiti, and Zila Parishad in Panchkula today after presenting them with Scooty for their commendable work with regard to development in their respective areas. Earlier, Sh. Dushyant Chautala has also honoured 72 such efficient and hard-working women in Gurugram and Jind by giving them scooty.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Development and Panchayats Department, said that the State Government is taking strong initiatives towards women empowerment. He said that in order to empower the women of rural areas and to develop the vision of leadership in them, he had suggested honouring 100 women who have done exemplary work in Panchayati Raj Institutions with scooty. Taking steps in this regard, he said that when ‘Hero Motors Corp’ company was requested to provide these Scooty under CSR funds, the company accepted the proposal. He said that though there were suggestions to give these Scooties to the police and other departments, he laid emphasis on giving them to women representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions.
  • Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that honouring these women representatives of (PRIs) in Gurugram and Jind with scooties has uplifted the enthusiasm among women representatives of the entire State and several representatives encouraging them to perform better. While congratulating the women who were honoured today, he called upon them to suggest names of other women representatives who have also done such excellent work.
  • The Deputy Chief Minister said that in order to ensure greater participation in the development work of women in rural areas, the State Government has made a provision of 50 percent reservation for women in Panchayati Raj Institutions hoping that this will play an important role in bringing positive change in the society. He said that after the next Panchayati Raj elections, he would request the ‘Hero Motors Corp’ company to honour women by giving 100 scooty from their CSR fund annually on the occasion of Women’s Day.
  • Director General, Development and Panchayat Department, Sh. RC Bidhan said that after conferring Scooty to these women representatives of Panchayati Raj Institutions, other women will also get inspiration. Deputy Chief Minister OSD, Sh. Kamlesh Bhadoo and Sh. Raj Kumar Narwal were also present on the occasion.
