Haryana Health  Department administered 43,126 vaccine doses to the beneficiaries across the state on the second day of the ‘Mega Vaccination Day’ today.

  • Chandigarh, March 23 – Haryana Health  Department administered 43,126 vaccine doses to the beneficiaries across the state on the second day of the ‘Mega Vaccination Day’ today.
  • Sharing information in  regard, Additional Chief Secretary, Health Sh. Rajeev Arora said that Tuesday being a ‘Mega Vaccination Day’ the Health Department has administered 43,126 vaccine doses to beneficiaries and by adding today’s figures the number will be 12,00,479 vaccine doses in all.
  • Sharing information on the Vaccination Centres across the state Sh. Arora said that today there were 604 Vaccination Centres across the state which were evenly spread. Of the 604 Centres, 440 were government run and 164 were private Centres, he added. He elaborated that these Centres have been strategically placed in highly populated areas across the state and even in the rural areas to ensure maximum penetration of the vaccine so as to curtail the spread of highly contagious COVID-19 virus.
  • Most of the beneficiaries were above 60 years of age or between 45 years to 60 years with co-morbidities, he added.
  • On the administration of vaccines to Health Care Workers (HCWs) and Frontline Workers (FLWs) Sh. Arora said that 1,80,105 Health Care Workers (HCWs) have been administered the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine which cover around 82 per cent of the HCWs and around 1,08,573 Health Care Workers (HCWs) have been administered the second dose which covers around 60 per cent of the HCWs. Sharing the details of the Frontline Workers (FLWs) he said that 99,915 FLWs have been administered the first dose of the vaccine that is 74 per cent of FLWs and 33,162 FLWs have been administered the second dose which makes it 33 per cent. On the vaccine administered to beneficiaries above 60 years, within the age group of 45 to 60 years (with co-morbidities) and general citizens the first dose of the vaccine has been given to 7,78,724 beneficiaries.
