  • Chandigarh, March 14: Haryana Power, Renewable Energy and Jail Minister, Sh. Ranjit Singh said that the budget presented by Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Manohar Lal last Friday upholds the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, and it will accelerate the development of the state. He said that the budget shows a clear glimpse of the Chief Minister’s experience, which kept the state’s financial system healthy even during the COVID-19 crisis. The budget meets the expectations of farmers, youth and the public in general in the areas of agriculture, health and education.
  • The Power Minister said that the way the Chief Minister has presented the budget while keeping the state’s financial system healthy despite the pandemic, is highly commendable. The State Government has presented the budget with a 13 percent increase while dealing with major challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. He said that the interest and development of every region and every section of the state have been taken into consideration in the budget. Among the basic needs of the public, education and health have been taken special care of. The expansion of health facilities also includes the medical college to be built in Sirsa. At the same time, important steps have been taken in the direction of increasing the income of farmers. The State Government’s commitment to provide new employment opportunities to the youth is clearly visible in the budget.
  • He said that 24-hour electricity is being provided in 5080 villages in the state. In the budget, the Chief Minister showed commitment to extend this scheme further and many financial provisions have been made in this direction. He said that with a view to give a boost to the industrial sector in the state, a provision has been made in the budget to subsidize the electricity rate to factories with more than 40 workers.
  • He said that in order to increase the income of farmers, Sh. Manohar Lal has made financial provision for agriculture related undertakings by increasing the budget of agriculture sector.
  • The Minister said that in the midst of COVID-19 crisis, it is a historic step for the Government to increase the old age pension in the budget.
