Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the State Government has formulated a policy to give ownership rights to the occupants of the property of municipal bodies.

  • Chandigarh, June 16- Haryana Urban Local Bodies Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that the State Government has formulated a policy to give ownership rights to the occupants of the property of municipal bodies. Under this policy a maximum rebate of up to 50 per cent on the collector rate of the property concerned will be given to get the ownership of the occupied property. This policy will come into effect from July 1, 2021.
  • Giving the details of this policy, he said that the eligible occupant, who wants to take advantage of this policy, will have to apply online on the web portal to the concerned commissioner/executive officer/secretary of the concerned municipal body within a period of one month before 5 pm.
  • Sh. Vij informed that under this policy, for the convenience of the occupants, a web portal is being designed which will be ready by June 20, 2021 as there is a possibility of large scale occupants to be covered under this policy, he added.
  • Urban Local Minister, Sh. Vij informed that under this policy, Haryana Government is working to give ownership to those occupants of the properties of Urban Local Bodies Department, who are in possession of the property on rent, lease or license fee for more than 20 years. These occupants will be given a maximum discount of 50 per cent on the present collector rate for the deed of the property.
  • Sh. Vij said that the occupants who have occupied such a property for a period of more than 20 years but less than 25 years, they will have to pay 80 per cent of the collector rate of the property of the respective category. Similarly, occupants who have occupied such a property for more than 25 years but less than 30 years, will have to pay 75 per cent of the collector rate of the respective category of property.  Similarly, the occupants who have occupied such a property for more than 30 years but less than 35 years, will have to pay 70 per cent of the collector rate of the respective category of property.
  • The Urban Local Bodies Minister said that the occupants who have held such a property for more than 35 years but less than 40 years, will have to pay 65 per cent of the collector rate of the property of the respective category. Similarly, occupants who have occupied such a property for more than 40 years but less than 45 years, will have to pay 60 per cent of the collector rate of the respective category of property.  He said that the occupants, who have occupied such a property for more than 45 years but less than 50 years, they will have to pay 55 per cent of the collector rate of the respective category of property.
  • Sh. Vij said that the occupants who have held such property for more than 50 years, they will have to pay 50 per cent of the collector rate of the property of the respective category.
