The possibilities of running flying schools on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis at 4 locations in Haryana are being explored, For two locations tenders have also been allotted.

  • Chandigarh, June 29- The possibilities of running flying schools on Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis at 4 locations in Haryana are being explored, For two locations tenders have also been allotted. In addition to the establishment of an International Aviation Centre at Hisar, the existing airstrips in the state of Haryana will be revamped. This decision was taken in a meeting of officials of the Civil Aviation Department held in Gurugram under the Chairmanship of Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala.
  • Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala also holds the portfolio of Civil Aviation Department. The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, besides other officers of various department i.e. Haryana State Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, Public Works Department, Labour Department and Airline Operators.
  • While Presiding over the meeting, Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed the officers of Civil Aviation Department and said that tenders have been signed for running flying schools in Mahendragarh and Bhiwani on PPP basis, now the possibilities for running these schools in Karnal and Pinjore are being explored. He extensively discussed the improvement of the airstrips of Bachhod and Bhiwani near Narnaul in Mahendragarh district. Lights will be installed on the runway of these airstrips and taxi tracks will be made along with the runway. Not only this, useful equipment (VOR/DME) will also be installed in the terminal building and navigation. It was agreed to set up one more additional hangar at Narnaul. There the model made for Pinjore office building will be adopted there.
  • Similarly, it was decided to extend the runway of Bhiwani airstrip and install lights on it. The airstrip will be improved by making parallel taxi track along with Bhiwani airstrip. Approval for special repair of the already built building was also given. The possibilities of developing a heliport and aero museum in the proposed Global City along the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram were also discussed in the meeting. Sh. Dushyant Chautala directed to explore possibilities he said that at present there is no Aero Museum anywhere in the country and if it is built in Gurugram then it will be a unique effort of its kind. He also said that if the heliport is built here, it will boost industrialization and trade in Gurugram and its surrounding area. He said that efforts would also be made to build the Heliport and Aero Museum on PPP basis.
  • Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that work is being done to make Haryana a hub of industries in the field of aerospace and defence. For this an aerospace and defence policy is being prepared. He added that the state of Haryana is already leading in the auto sector, now a target has been set to invite more and more industries by making aerospace and defence policy so that Haryana can become a hub in these sectors as well. He said that aviation hub that is being prepared in Hisar, will give opportunity to other industries of aerospace and defence sector.
  • Additional Chief Secretary, Civil Aviation Department, Sh. Sudhir Rajpal, Integrated Aviation Hub, Wing Commander, Sh. Randeep Sangwan, Civil Aviation Department, Advisor, Dr. Saket Kumar, Civil Aviation Department, Administrative Officer, Smt. Pammi Devi, Integrated Aviation Hub Hisar, Manager Operations, Sh. Daljit Singh and other officers of the Public Works and Labour Department were also present.
