Secretary Health Amitabh Awasthi here today requested the eligible persons of the State to get vaccinated against Covid-19 as soon as possible. He said that the masses need to be aware of the seriousness of the second wave in which the transmission is far greater than the first wave and more number of people are dying due to the disease and urged people to undertake precautions like social distancing, hand hygiene and use the mask.
Secretary Health said that there have been some reports in the media that the number of critical and serious patients is being concealed by the Health Department, which is not true.
He said that since the beginning of this pandemic, daily Media Bulletin is being published with the district wise number of tests done along with pendency and lab wise breakup, type of tests done, number of COVID positive persons detected, number of deaths etc. This bulletin was earlier being given at a frequency of thrice a day and now twice a day.
He said that for the purpose of transparency and education of public, the bulletin is being shared twice a day in Himachal Pradesh through social media as well for faster dissemination. So, it is wrong to say that the Health department is hiding any fact or figure. The information regarding availability of beds and occupancy in different levels of institutions is also being updated on the dedicated link now, which is available in the public domain.
