International Women’s Day celebrated with enthusiasm in Doda, Jammu

On the eve of woman day, district administration Doda organised a programme in girls high school Doda today. The programme was attended by large number of local residents, students of various educational institutions. During the programme a debate completion was held in which students took part and deliver speech. Lectures were also delivered by scholars on the woman empowerment and role of woman in shaping the society. Skits were also presented highlighting the role of woman and necessary of nursing girl child.

Speakers in general appreciated government for launching various women welfare schemes which according to them have brought a sea change in the society. The role played by BBBP scheme has brought a sea change in the sex ratio across the country, speakers believed. They said that presently a girl child is treated equally like boys and this conception has come in society after the government launched women welfare schemes.
