Chandigarh, October 14:
Taking serious note of the illegal slaughterhouse operating in district Gurdaspur and killing of cows, the Punjab Gau Sewa Commission directed the Deputy Commissioner Gurdaspur to take stern action against the accused.
Notably, the district police raided the illegally run slaughterhouse located near village Trijanagar and Bandesha in district Gurdaspur and recovered three dead cows and rescued four cows including an injured cow, a calf, sharp edged weapons and two vehicles and arrested 11 people, some of them were locals residents, while some are from Uttar Pradesh.
Commission Chairman Mr. Sachin Sharma directed the Deputy Commissioner and SSP to investigate the matter deeply and nab the whole gang, which is likely to be linked to other states. He said that the commission would take all necessary steps to ensure exemplary punishment to the accused.
