Sachin Sharma demands construction Gau Mata Memorial at Ludhiana

Chandigarh, July 20:

Punjab State Gau Sewa Commission Chairman Sachin Sharma today wrote a letter to Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and sought construction of Gau Mata Smark at Ludhiana .

In a memorandum sent to the Chief Minister, Mr. Sharma said that in 1515 AD, the first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji had visited Ludhiana. During their visit, Jalal Khan Lodhi, the then ruler of Ludhiana, told Guru Nanak Dev ji that the river Sutlej consistently changed their way and its flow gradually surging towards the city and requested to stop it. Guru Nanak Dev ji had advised Jalal Khan Lodhi to stop slaughtering cows in his area and was blessed to divert the Sutlej river seven miles from Ludhiana city.
