Teachers launch door-to-door campaigns to motivate people for admission in government schools

Chandigarh, 10 March :

Following the direction of Punjab Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, the School Education Department has launched a massive campaign to motivate the students and their parents for taking admission in government schools. Under this campaign, teachers have started door-to-door visit to register the children for the admission.

According to the spokesperson, the education department had made great strides last year in terms of enrolment in government schools. In the last academic session 2020-21, about 3.30 lakh children were admitted in pre-primary classes in government schools across the state. Due to the hard work of the department the admission in government schools increased by a record 15 per cent. During the lockdown caused by Covid-19 last year, the students were kept connected to the curriculum through online education. The increase in the standard of education during the tenure of Captain Amrinder Singh government has boosted the confidence of the people in government schools. Therefore, the School Education Department has launched a comprehensive campaign to increase the admissions in government schools to provide quality education to the children. According to the spokesperson, ‘enrolment booster teams’ have already been formed to make this campaign a success.

In order to motivate the people towards government schools, besides conducting door-to-door visits by the teachers, flexes were being put up in common places and meetings were being held with Panches, Sarpanches, Councillors and other dignitaries. Posters, videos, short films depicting the features of government schools are being prepared and loaded on social media.
