Kullu Valley Travel Guide for Frequent Travellers

Kulu is the capital of Kullu district in Himachal Pradesh. It is located on the banks of the beautiful Beas River in the Kullu Valley. This valley is known for temples and its beautiful hills covered with pine, forest and apple. Beas river gives a succession of magnificent, with forests with a club, towering above trees of pine on the lower rocky ridges.

 Kullu valleys known, Lower Himalayan and also Known as the ‘Valley of Gods’, Kullu is a cluster of most beautiful valleys in Himachal Pradesh. Kullu offers all activities like trekking, paragliding, and river rafting. Angling is one of another activity enjoyed a lot by locals and tourists. Mountaineering beginners can trek around the Beas Kund region, Hanuman and Deo Tibba. Most of the trekking trails are situated beyond the Rohtang valleys of  Lahaul-Spiti, Ladakh and private companies organize expeditions for one or two weeks. Kheerganga, Manikaran, a pilgrimage and also the Great Himalayan National Park are the ‘touristy’ places worth visiting in Kullu.

1. Prashar Lake:-

Surrounded by the Dhauladhar ranges in Kullu Valley, the Prashar Lake is a serene blue-water lake, a lovely sight in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. The best thing to do in Kullu, the trek offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Himalayan mountains. The  Ranges of Dhauladar and mountain of Kinnaur and Pir Panjal are a pure treat to the eyes on this trek. The local and old temple of Prashar Rishi is built-in Himachal style architecture

2.Bijli Mahadev Temple:-

As we all know that Kullu valley is known for temples. So Bijli Mahadev Temple is one of the ancient and sacred temples in India. As the name suggests, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is very popular for trekking. It is said that the Bijli Mahadev Temple houses a Shiva Linga which was broken into pieces by lightning, that was brought back together and bounded by a temple priest using butter. The word around is that this repeats itself every year.

Bijli Mahadev haves to be reached by a trek through a 3 km long path covered with pine trees. People who are religious and adventurous usually prefer to trek from Kullu while enjoying the pleasant weather. The sceneries that one witness during the trek make it beautiful and refreshing rather than tiring. This is the most beautiful temple in Kullu. 

3.Nagger Tourism:-

The picturesque town of Naggar draws tourists looking to revel in surroundings green, trekking or be a little more adventurous and camping out. Nagger  Located in the Kullu district, this quaint little town is typically covered with Kullu and is famous for its stunning most attractive natural beauty. Set against the backdrop of majestic hills and the clear and pristine Beas River, this tourist destination is ideal for people who want to relax by living in the lap of beautiful nature and also indulges in trekking and camping here. It is famous for being in abundance of unexplored natural beauty, 

 4.Bhrigu Lake:-

Bhrigu lake takes about 6 hours to reach the enrapturing Bhrigu Lake from Gulaba Village. The name Bhrigu is derived from the name of Maharishi Bhrigu. Bhrigu Lake is a high altitude lake in the district of Kullu. Many tourists know about the beautiful meadows that can be compared with the alpine meadows found at high altitude locations like Switzerland. Most of the tourist season, the region has clear blue skies during the day. The gentle warmth of the sun during a clear day makes the walk a pleasant one. Night skies are a special treat for campers and night gazers.

5.Great Himalayan National Great park:- 

Himalayan National Park is one of the most beautiful and national parks in India, which is located in the Kullu (Himachal Pradesh). In 1999 ‘’The Great Himalayan National Park’’ received the status of a national park and now it is home to more than 375 species of fauna, 31 species of mammals and 181 species of birds. This is the most beautiful location of the national park and also more attractive due to the Deodar and Oak trees.

The location of the park has made sure that the villages inside the park have a culture of their own. There are also some fairs organized here during the month of April, May, August, and September. The Great Himalayan National Park is an amazing place to relax and unwind at away from the fast life of the city.
