3.34 lakh families benefited under Grihini Suvidha Yojna: CM

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that 3.34 lakh families have been benefited under Grihini Suvidha Yojna so far and a sum of Rs.131 crore spent to facilitate the women of the state. Himachal Pradesh has become the first smoke-free state in the country where every household is having LPG connection now. The Cabinet has also approved free domestic water supply in rural areas and two free LPG cylinders to the beneficiaries of Mukhya Mantri Grihini Suvidha Yojna.

He was addressing a largely attended gathering on the occasion of celebrations of 75 years of existence of Himachal Pradesh which came into existence on 15th April, 1948.

Chief Minister said this is a proud moment for the people of the state that Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Himachal Pradesh seven times during the tenure of the present government. He said the Prime Minister has special affection for the state and its people.

Refuting the baseless allegations of opposition, the Chief Minister said that the state has accelerated in various sectors under the benevolence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister provided not only the special assistance of Rs. 800 crore but also restored special category status of the state in central funding with 90:10 ratio for all central projects, he added. Expressing his gratitude to the Prime Minister he said Narendra Modi is the only Prime Minister who visited Himachal Pradesh several times and paved the state’s way towards development and prosperity.

Chief Minister also assured all-round development of Fatehpur assembly segment.

While welcoming the Chief Minister, Member State BJP Executive Baldev Thakur thanked him for opening new sub-tehsils at Raja-Ka-Talab and Rey and providing budget for the construction of Rs. 41.21 crores government women polytechnic institute at Rehan.

MLA Arjun Thakur, Chairman, Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj, Vice Chairman Himachal Backward Classes Finance and Development Corporation O.P. Chaudhary, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Nipun Jindal and SP Khushal Sharma were also present on the occasion.
