Also, referred to as the ‘marsh gas’ or ‘bioenergy’, biogas is considered the ‘fuel for the future’. The process behind the formation of biogas is dependent upon the anaerobic bacteria. These bacteria in the absence of oxygen, convert the organic remains into methane. Hence, the biogas generation is a subtle and efficient practice.

Biogas-making has multidirectional benefits. To begin with, it assists in the conservation of local energy resources. Side by side, it eliminates deforestation due to wood collection.

Furthermore, the rate of rural employment increases significantly at biogas plants. An elevation in the health standards of the village communities is also a marked effect. Residual sludge obtained during biogas generation is used as a fertilizer in the agricultural sector.

As a result, we can roughly calculate the emergence of an energy abundant future. And the credit for this goes to the thinkers of the biogas!
