In a single day over 16,000 confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the US on Thursday, soared to 85,088 the highest for any country, according to the data compiled by the Worldometer. The United States has surpassed the record of China and Italy in terms of the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus.
The website Worldometers, which records the confirmed cases of infection and deaths globally, has recorded the confirmed cases of the infection in the US by Thursday night had 85,088 individuals, of which 16,877 were added in a single day. A week ago, the number of confirmed cases was 8,000. It has dangerously surged 10 times in the span of a week.
The US also reported the maximum number of fatalities due to the contagion disease in a single day. On Thursday 263 deaths were recorded due to the coronavirus. Around 1400 Americans have died due to the coronavirus so far and over 2000 were in a serious condition. The number of confirmed cases as well as the deaths due to COVID-19 are likely to increase substantially in the coming days.
