Governor releases book titled ‘Dhyeya-Yatra’

“The glorious past of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is inspirational for the future generations. The organization has made a different identity by working in the national interest”, said Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar during the Book releasing function of ‘Dhyeya Yatra’ based on the life history of the Parishad, organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad at historic Gaiety Theater here today.

He said that the long journey of the organization which started from 1948 has developed as Banyan Tree and the one who is associated with it feels proud.  He added that the Vidyarthi Parishad never linked its ideology with any political organization.  That was the reason that the organization did not care whether it was in power or not. On the contrary, whenever any challenge strikes the country, every worker of the organization has come forward, he said and added that the organization has worked hard to inculcate this idea dedicated to the nation among the students, for which they deserve appreciation.

Recalling the moments spent with Yashwant Rao Kelkar and Dattopant Thengadi, Shri Arlekar said that he got to learn from them how the workers of the organization dedicate themselves for the organization.  “They guided by conduct, not by speech”, he added.  He said that an organization like Vidyarthi Parishad has emerged from the sacrifice of such people.  He said that the work of the organization cannot be compared with any others.  Many workers have given their lives to maintain the national spirit, he said.  The Governor said that the aim and purpose should be known by joining the organization and that aim has been brought before the readers through two volumes of the books.

The Governor also released the book ‘Gender and Society’ written by Seema Thakur on the occasion.

Prof. Nagesh Thakur, Special Guest, who is the former National President of ABVP, while welcoming the Governor said that the Parishad has contributed to the ‘thought process. The goal of the organization was big, so the journey of the Parishad has also been long. He said that the organization has a long way to go to achieve the goal of nation-building. He threw light on various aspects of the book and gave detailed information about the purpose, functions and historical background of the organization.

Vijay Pratap, Kashetriy Sangathan Mantri of ABVP said that the glorious history of the organization has been mentioned in the book, which has given direction to the society. He said that development of a person leads to society and nation building, which was the purpose of publication of the book.
