The humans of today are much more evolved than the first Sapiens and Neanderthals that walked the Earth thousands of years ago. The reason behind this is their ability to gather and retain knowledge and the wisdom to apply it. They used this to raise their living standards.

Recent research has shown that humans continue to gain knowledge until the end of their lives. This knowledge is not only acquired from books but also other sources such as conversations, experiences and even entertainment. This knowledge is then classified by our brain as good and bad, and the good kind is passed on to the next generation.

We also have means of transports that can take us anywhere – from the deepest ocean to the Moon. Knowledge is Power that has been cultivated and grown for thousands of years has truly made our lives amazingly easy. While this is astounding by itself, we have only touched the surface of the vast pool of knowledge so far.

All this is carried out via research. This goes a long way to show why a ton of modern universities and colleges are centered on their research programs, and why the government has boosted funding for research carried out by students in fields that would be beneficial for humanity. The world is finally beginning to realize the importance of education and has started spending more and more money on it.

Nowadays information is freely available and easily accessible via Google. But, the conversion of information into knowledge still requires help from a teacher. The reason for traditional teaching to still be in use is that teachers are the ones who help students in converting the information online and in books into knowledge that they can use.
