The 7th of August will be National Handloom Day
Every year on the 7th of August, India commemorates National Handloom Day. It is observed in order to raise awareness about the economic importance of the textile sector. It began as a project to recognize and employ handloom weavers and craftspeople. The Union Government recognized August 7th as National Handloom Day in 2015 to raise awareness about the sector and its societal value.
