Provision of Change by CBSE for 2020 Examinations

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has updated a correction link on the official website on 4th November 2019. This notification is in regard to the correction process related to making changes in the list of candidates. The Board has allowed the schools and individuals to make final changes in all fields of data, the personal information of candidates, their name, address, and subject opted by them, but no new entry is allowed in the correction process. This measure will help schools to make corrections in the list of names of candidates who will appear for the CBSE 2020 examination.

Change Details on the Website

The Board has recently stated that it was desired from the schools that the data uploaded in the list of candidates would be 100 percent genuine, but even after the last date, many schools have requested the board for correction in the uploaded data of students who shall appear in the CBSE Board Exams in 2020. Following these requests, the Board has declared a notification for making changes in the data through an online process on the official website of CBSE.

Steps to Update the Data Online

  • Log on to the CBSE official website using the registered mobile number and registration number
  • Click on the ‘LOC’ tab on the homepage
  • Click on ‘Submission’ when the new tab opens
  • Enter the User I’d, password in the given box
  • Complete the Captcha request

Permitted Changes in Subjects

The CBSE Alerts have claimed that the students can make the required changes even in the subjects opted by them for the exam. The CBSE Board examination will be held from February 2020 onwards, before that the CBSE Board has recommended that all corrected hardcopies should be signed by the head of the school and posted to the regional office. After the last date, no further requests in the correction of the candidate’s personal data and opted subjects will be entertained by the CBSE Board.

The Changes that the Board has permitted in the Exam subjects are listed below:

  • Changing from standard Mathematics to basic and vice versa
  • Changing Urdu and Hindi language preferences in either 1st or 2nd position
  • Changes in the name of the Candidate
  • Changes in the preference of subjects like Hindi, Urdu, English, and Sanskrit in their positioning of selective and core.

The CBSE affiliated schools and also the students who will be appearing in the CBSE 2020 examinations should keep in mind that the details provided by them in the List of Candidates through online medium, will later be used for all the future documentation like generating admit cards, mark sheets and result declaration by the CBSE Board. Therefore, all the candidates are recommended to check and update their details using this one-time facility in case they want to make any required changes in the details provided or the subjects opted for in the list of candidates submitted.
