Foundation Stone of Central GST Bhavanof Palghar Commissionerate laid at Boisar

The Foundation Stone of Central GST Bhavan of Palghar Commissionerate at Boisar, Palghar has been laid by Shri Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Principal Chief Commissioner, CGST & Central Excise, Mumbai on 27th February, 2021.

The Ceremony took place in the august presence of Shri Lorengob Dung Dung, Chief Engineer, CPWD, Mumbai- I and TIMA functionaries, MIDC officials, among other dignitaries.

The function commenced with Bhoomi Poojan which was followed by unveiling of the foundation stone and plantation of trees by the Principal Chief Commissioner. During the ceremony, the Principal Chief Commissioner expressed special appreciation for the CPWD department for their swift response in getting the necessary approval for construction of project and for MIDC officials in expediting the clearance of the project. He further stated that he believes that the location of the project being in MIDC Tarapur will allow the taxpayers to approach the office easily to get their grievances resolved, which will further add up to the concept of ease of doing business.

The commencement of construction of this project will add to the vast infrastructure owned by CGST & Central Excise, Mumbai Zone. The new GST Bhavan is proposed to be built in an area of 3952 Sq. Mtrs comprising of a basement and six floors. The building will have 03 Division offices and 14 Range offices of Central CGST, Palghar Commissionerate. The total budget approved for the project is Rs. 33 Crores. The building is designed by Shri Jitendra Kr. Kulkarni, Architect and will incorporate the advanced amenities for the officers and the visiting taxpayers. The building will be equipped with water harvesting facilities and photo voltaic cell for generation of electricity, the greener and safer features will provide a sense of comfort among the officers and the taxpayers. The contract for construction of the building is given to Hill Top Refrigeration Agency. The project is expected to be completed by July 2022.
