Chandigarh, February 22 – Haryana Deputy Chief Minister, Sh. Dushyant Chautala said that the State Government is contemplating to open a ‘Centre of Excellence’ to provide training to commercial drivers in the state. In this regard, ‘Transport Corporation of India’ (TCI) HR Head, Sh. PK Jain called upon him today.

The Deputy Chief Minister said that at present, commercial-drivers are needed in the private sector to run auto rickshaws, trucks and other heavy vehicles, but due to lack of good technical knowledge and training, commercial drivers are not able to fetch their respective dues. It is our endeavor to open a ‘Centre of Excellence’ for training commercial-drivers in the state under CSR of a big company. He said that today a proposal has been given to him by the Transport Corporation of India (TCI) and soon a ‘Centre of Excellence’ will be materialized by providing land in the rural areas of the state. Under the proposal, about 5,000 youth will be given certified driving training every year.

Sh. Dushyant Chautala informed that the State Government is moving towards starting more and more industries and training institutes in rural areas so that the youth of the village can get training and employment near their homes. He added that he is providing training related to modern technology to youth of ITI and polytechnic institutes in collaboration with big companies so that they can get skilled personnel according to the industry requirement  which will directly benefit youth as they are not required to do apprenticeship post their course completion. This will also give a good start to their career.

On this occasion CSR Head of Transport Corporation of India, Dr. Munish Kumar and representative of ASSOCHAM, Sh. Vineet Agarwal were also present.
