  • Chandigarh August 25 – Haryana Home Minister, Sh. Anil Vij said that with the introduction of “Haryana-112 Emergency Response Support System”, an atmosphere of fear is being created among criminals on one hand through this service and emergency services like ambulances and fire brigade are being delivered to the needy citizens within a time span of 15 to 20 minutes through more than 600 Emergency Response Vehicles ie ‘ERVs’.  He urged the citizens to immediately call on 112 for police assistance and information of criminal offenses at any time.
  • Giving more details in this regard, he said that positive results have been seen from this new initiative.  Due to ERV, the police presence has increased in the state, due to which the sense of security among the citizens has been enhanced, as well as the criminals and anti-social elements fear police even more.  The new system has also given hope to the citizens that in case of emergency, if information is given on 112, then the accused will be caught.  With the timely help being provided to the people from Haryana 112, people’s confidence in the police has increased and it has also ensured transparency in the functioning of the police.
  • He said that out of the total calls received in the first 1000 hours, 66861 calls were from people who needed help.  Out of these 56113 emergency vehicles were sent to the spot for assistance.  Out of the total actionable calls received, 52393 requested for police assistance, 5860 for ambulance services and 455 for fire services.  Out of the total dispatch calls, there were also multi-service dispatches in which multiple services were dispatched by the system on a single call.
  • Sh. Vij said that Haryana Police has fixed the time limit for Haryana-112 helpline to reach the caller within 15 to 20 minutes, but the policemen posted on ERV  provided police help in an average of 16 minutes 28 seconds while living upto the slogan of Seva Suraksha Sahyog. He informed that a total of 470189 callers called for assistance through actionable calls at the State Emergency Response Centre, Panchkula between July 13 and August 23.

  • He said that due to the presence of 112 ERV vehicles in police stations, where hundreds of people who met accident were immediately taken to the hospital and their lives were saved, many possible criminal activities were prevented and women were getting the maximum benefit of 112.  In places like schools, colleges, markets, where there is a high incidence of tampering, then they can directly dial 112.  With this, the police directly reach the spot and ensure the safety of women.

  • Referring to some incidents, Sh. Vij said that a car robbed by three persons from New Delhi was immediately caught by the team of Haryana 112 in Jhajjar district.  The team of Haryana 112 not only recovered the stolen vehicle but also managed to nab the three thieves.  Similarly, in another case a minor kidnapped from Rajasthan was rescued in Haryana when the kidnappers were passing through Haryana region.  He also referred to a suspicious incident of dowry death in which the body was to be cremated but Haryana-112 ERV reached the spot on time and took the body in its custody for further investigation.
  • He informed that in all these cases, Haryana 112 team played a vital role to solve such cases in a professional manner and helped the victims. Sh. Vij further informed that Haryana Police is committed to provide prompt and efficient emergency services to the residents across the State and is taking all necessary steps in this regard.
  • 112 service being established continuously
  • Arshinder Singh Chawla, ADGP Telecom and IT, who is heading Haryana-112 at the State-Level, informed that the police help is being provided to the person calling the single emergency helpline in the minimum possible time, for which all the policemen deployed on the ERV, including the team of Haryana 112 under the leadership of Shri Udai Singh Meena, SP Haryana-112 deserves appreciation.  The project is new and is constantly being upgraded to improve emergency services.  The officers/staff deployed to provide quick and efficient services to the residents of Haryana are continuously working on the project.
  • According to the directions of the Home Minister of Haryana, a system has been made to honour the officers who have done well in different categories, under which such officers will be honoured every month.  In this sequence, in the month of July, the following officers are being honoured for their excellent work.
  • The best call receivers were, Ms. Rita Devi, Ms. Madhu Bala and Ms. Priyanka Malik and were selected on the basis of short response time, accurate victim information and correct event mapping in the system.  Similarly, the best call dispatcher is Head Constable Gyan Chand, Head Constable Ankur and Head Constable Sarvjit Singh. For the best ERV vehicle, the ERV number of Rewari is 569 which is managed by ESI Sujan Singh, EHC Om Prakash and constable Narbir Singh have been selected.  Hisar’s ERV number 313 has ESI Om Prakash, EHC Karambir and Sepoy Vikas and Sonepat’s ERV number 656 has ESI Jaipan, Sepoy Vikas and Sepoy Gagandeep.
