  • Chandigarh, August 25 : In Haryana, Rewari has become the leading district in providing timely services under the purview of the Right to Service Act.  Rewari has achieved a score of 9.6 in the entire state by providing services under the Right to Service Act on 95070  applications out of 98019 applications made in the district on Saral Portal.
  • Sharing more information in this regard, an official spokesperson said that the services and schemes of various departments are being made available online under one roof on the Saral portal started by the state government.
  • Antyodaya Saral Kendras have also been set up across the state by the state government so that the poor and needy do not have to run from pillar to post for getting the advantage of various schemes and services of the Government.
  • Secretary, Haryana Right to Service Commission, Smt. Meenaxee Raj informed that today 551 services of various government departments have been brought under the purview of this Act due to the efforts of the Commission.
  • Directions have been given by the Chief Commissioner to the officers of various departments to paste all the information regarding the period prescribed in the Right to Service Act along with First Grievance Redressal Authority and the Second Grievance Redressal Authority, inside and outside their office.
  • She informed that Haryana Right to Service Commission has recommended to the State Government to bring 53 services provided by the Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) under the purview of essential services. Along with this, it has also been directed to rationalize the time limit prescribed for various services.
  • The Commission has also started taking strict cognizance for not delivering government services notified under the Right to Service Act within the stipulated time frame.  In this series,  the Commission has imposed fines on the guilty officials of Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam for all cases of excessive delay in service delivery.
  • Smt. Meenaxee Raj informed that the Commission has directed the government departments to ensure to deliver the notified government services under the ‘Right to Service Act’ within a stipulated period.  Officers should get display boards installed outside their offices and at such places where there is a relatively high movement of people. All the important information related to the service period notified by the concerned department should be given on the display board.
