1. Tirumala Venkateswara Temple 

The Tirumala Venkateswara Temple is devoted to Lord Venkateswara who is the epitome of Lord Vishnu. Devotees between fifty-thousand to a million visit this temple regularly, it is the most recognised temple of India. This temple is famous for its religious belief as well as the style of the structure of this temple is also very famous, it has Dravidian architecture and there are inscriptions printed which also seek attention. The temple carries various marks of the empires which are in Indian history like the Cholas, Pandyas, Pallavas and Yadavarayas. Devotees perform various rituals here to please the god-like they do Head Tonsuring, Thulabharam, Arjitha Seva etc .the main festivals are also celebrated in this temple-like Vaikuntha Ekadasi, Ram Navami, Janmashtami, Ratha Saptami and Vasanthotsavam etc.

2. Shirdi Sai Baba Temple

This temple is devoted to Saint Sai Baba who is very well recognised by the devotees all over the world. Shirdi temple is the third richest temple in India. The town where this temple is situated i.e Shirdi is a religious town and is identified worldwide by Sai Baba’s Temple. Shirdi is the place where Sai Baba did all the miracles and teachings, he gave the concept of ‘Shraddha’ and ‘Saburi’ which means trust and tender feeling. Millions of admirers visit Sai Baba Temple despite their religion. The religious belief of Sai Baba is very solid among his devotees. The main festivals that are celebrated here are Ram Navami, Guru Purnima and Vijayadashmi.

3. Ramanathaswamy Temple

One must have always heard of the famous Char Dham temples, the Ramanathaswamy Temple is part of this Char Dham Temples. It is believed that out of 12 Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva, the Ramanathaswamy Temple is one of them. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and is mainly for both the Shivaites and Vaishnavites devotees. In history there are many myths related to the temple, many legends believe that Lord Rama prayed to Lord Shiva here to pardon himself of all the sins he may have committed during the war with Ravana. For worship, he sent Hanuman to bring the lingam from the Himalayas but Hanuman got late while returning so Lord Rama’s wife Sita Mata made a small lingam and this lingam is still preserved in the temple as the main deity. The other lingam is also there in the temple and both are known by different names, the one made by Sita is known as Ramalingam and the other one brought by Hanuman is known as Vshwalingam. Mahashivratri and Navratri are the two festivals which are celebrated here mainly.

4. Somnath and Dwarka Temple

This temple is also known as Dwarkadhish Temple and is devoted to Lord Krishna. It is built on the bank of River Gomti, Dwarkadhish is famous for its five-storied structure which is supported by seventy-two pillars. This structure fascinates the tourist coming from all over the world there are two main doors for entry and exit. The entry door of the temple is known as the “Swarg Dwar” which means the gateway to heaven and the other one is the “Moksha Dwar” which means the gateway to salvation. This temple has won a nomination in the UNESCO list of Work Heritage Sites due to the cleanliness. 

The “Somnath Temple” is just 230 km from the Dwarka temple is devoted to Lord Shiva. It is one of the most renowned and recognised jyotirlingas among the 12 other existing Jyotirlingas in India.

5. Vaishno Devi

The one of the most famous temple of India which situated at a very high altitude of 5,200 ft. Devotees visit this temple in millions of numbers every year. This temple is devoted to the goddess Shakti. There are 51 Shakti Peethas in India and Vaishno Devi Temple has three rock heads which are known as Pindies. The main festival which is celebrated here is Navaratri and it is celebrated widely and at a very large amount of pilgrimage come here during Navratri.

6. Jagannath Temple

Jagannath temple is a part of Char Dham and is devoted to Lord Krishna. Here you will find Lord Krishna idol, Lord Balabhadra the brother of Krishna and Goddess Subhadra, the sister of Lord Krishna. The main centre of attraction for the visitors here is the idols of the temple which are totally different in look from other idols. The idols here have big eyes, different complexions and one of the main things is that the idols are made of a very special kind of wood which is known as ‘Daru Brahma’.

7. Golden Temple

If you have not visited Golden Temple during your pilgrimage tour then your tour will remain incomplete. The Golden Temple is also known as Shri Harmandir Sahib or Darbar Sahib and it is the most religious place for Sikhs. It has a kind of structure where the four doors open in four main directions which means welcoming all religions people. Baisakhi and Guru Nanak Jayanti are celebrated here mainly. It is the most visited place in the world.

8. Kashi Vishwanath Temple

This temple is also one of the 12 jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, it is devoted to Lord Shiva. It is believed that devotees visit here to take blessings of Lord Shiva and by taking a dip in the divine water of Ganga River all the sins of devotees get pardoned and get salvation. It is also believed that worshipping the jyotirlinga of this temple means that you get blessings equal to the other 11 jyotirlingas. Mahashivratri is the main festival celebrated here.

9. Meenakshi Amman Temple

The temple is situated on the bank of river Vaigai and is one of the largest and ancient temples situated in India. It is believed that the temple is around 2500 years old and is devoted to Meenakshi which is an avatar of Goddess Parvati and her husband Sundareswarar, also known as Lord Shiva. The structure of this temple is one of its kind in the whole world and is the main centre of attraction for the tourists and devotees visiting here.

10. Kedarnath Temple

The Himalayan ranges of Garhwal, Uttarakhand has one of the magnificent temples which is considered as the most beautiful situated temple in the whole India. People have a belief that Pandavas built this temple on top of a high hill to worship Lord Shiva. This temple can be visited from April to November only because of the freezing temperature there on the hills. It is one of the top pilgrimage destinations in India which is visited by many devotees every season.
