Hariyali Teej 2023 – Hariyali Teej is the festival which is being celebrated on the Shukla Paksha Tritiya in the month of Shravana which is mostly in the last week of July or first week of August every year. This festival is a celebration of women in the spring, when the whole nature is covered with green sheets, the minds of women start dancing on the occasion. The branches of the tree swing in. Hariyali Teej 2022 is observed on the third day of the bright half of the Shraavana’s Lunar month. It is also referred to as Singhara Teej. The meaning of Hariyali is greenery. It is believed that the earth will get wrapped in greenery after the summer season. Haryali Teej is an extremely important festival for newly married women who visit their houses and are presented with many items. Parents gift their daughter and her in-laws a bunch of gift called Sindhara. The gift will usually contain ghewar, homemade sweets, henna, etc.

On the festival day, folk songs, special dances, fairs and swings are being performed. Spiritual songs are also sung. Women will wear green clothes and perform a special pooja. In the state of Rajasthan, the marches of Goddess Parvati or Teej Mata will be taken on the streets. Hariyali Teej 2022 in Haryana is an official holiday and the local government will schedule several functions to celebrate the day colorfully. Women will perform Gidda in Punjab while in Chandigarh, cultural events and plays are presented by students.

Kajari Teej 2023

Kajari Teej holiday in 2023 falls on Sunday, 14 August 2022. Kajari Teej is also called Badi Teej. The Southern and Northern parts of country will celebrate this festival. The festival is observed in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. People celebrate the festival in order to welcome monsoon. Bundi, a city in Rajasthan, is popular for the festival. The city is beautifully decorated to celebrate the festival. The processions of Teej Mata are taken on the streets of Bundi.

Rituals during the festival of Kajari

  • God Shiva and Goddess Parvati are worshiped by women. On the day, women will wear new dresses and apply mehndi.
  • In a few parts of the country, holy neem trees are also worshipped by women who gather in small clutches and perform the pooja under the direction of a priest.
  • On the festival day, women will also observe a strict fast. They will not eat anything.

Hartalika Teej 2023

Hartalika Teej holiday in 2023 falls on Tuesday, 19 August. Hartalika Teej is celebrated for three days in the month of Bhadrapada according to Hindu calendar. Married women and unmarried girls will pray to Teej Mata, who is Goddess Parvati. Girls hope to get a good husband like God Shiva. Women observe a waterless fast on these three days and worship the Goddess. It is believed that God Shiva fulfills the desires of the women who fast on the festival day. The festival is celebrated with great enthusiasm in Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Bihar.
